Dueling Dragons

Dragon Challenge is a dueling inverted coaster. The ride is currently operating in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. The inverted coaster is the retheming of Lost Continent's former coaster Dueling Dragons. The attraction commenced with opening ceremonies for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter on June 18, 2010.

Ride historyEdit

The attraction was announced with the rest of the area in 2008. Shortly after, the park closed Dueling Dragons so the ride could go into remodeling. The ride's name was originally going to be kept, but in 2009, the ride was renamed to Dragon Challenge. The original two dueling tracks, named Fire and Ice, were also reported to be renamed. The sides were renamed Hungarian Horntail and Chinese Fireball, to coincide with the dragons Harry Potter has to ride in book 4.

Ride synopsisEdit

Just like Harry Potter does in Goblet of Fire, you accept the challenge of the Triwizard Tournament. One of the seven tasks Harry and you are required to do is ride a dragon and duel another.

Guests are taken the queue, full of colorful Triwizard Tournament banners.
