Sweets shop

Honeydukes is a sweet shop located in the recreation of Hogsmeade at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The ride is a replica of the Honeydukes store widely mentioned in the Harry Potter series.

Shop history[]

In book 3 (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), Ron and Hermione are excited about their visit to local Hogsmeade village. Ron constantly, throughout the book, mentions his love for the sweets Honeydukes sells. Later in the book, Harry uses the Marauder's Map to sneak into Hogsmeade by a secret tunnel into Honeydukes.

Recreation[]

The shop was recreated for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and opened with the island on June 18, 2010. The recreation is very similar to the one shown in the movies.

Shop items[]

Honeydukes sells many items similar to ones mentioned in the books.

  • Acid Pops - Lollipops that when sucked, can taste sweet or sour and/or can burn the consumer's tongue. In the books, it was also used as a password to enter Dumbledore's office (Dumbledore is a fan of Acid Pops). When Ron Weasley was little, he reported his brother Fred gave him one, which burnt a hole through his mouth.
  • Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans - A popular sweet in the wizard world, like jelly beans but with every flavor. When Harry was in the hospital wing in his first year, he offered one to Dumbledore, who refused it by exclaiming he came upon a vomit flavored jelly bean.
  • Caramel apples
  • Cauldron Cakes - Cakes manufactured since 1854 and also homemade. Bought on the Hogwarts Express. In 1994, Ron threw one at Draco Malfoy for criticizing him.
  • Chocoballs - Large chocolate balls with a heavy filling of cream and strawberry mousse.
  • Chocolate Cauldrons - Cauldrons covered in milk chocolate with a green marshmallow foam. In 1996, Romilda Vane gave one to Harry Potter, after enchanting it with a love potion. Mistakenly, Ron ate half the box.
  • Chocolate Frogs - Frogs covered in chocolate. Each frog comes with a card that has a famous wizard on it. Harry was given one by Ron on the 1991 train ride to Hogwarts.
  • Chocolate Skeleton
  • Chocolate Wand
  • Clippy's Clip Joint Clippings
  • Edible Dark Mark - Sweets created by the Weasley twins. Chocolate formed like the Dark Mark that Voldemort uses. In the books, George had caught a kid trying to sneak some and told him he'd pay in more than money.
