Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast was a former motion simulator attraction at Universal Studios Florida. It replaced The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera, which occupied that space from June 7, 1990 to its closing date on October 20, 2002. After the ride closed, Jimmy Neutron's began construction and officially opened on April 11, 2003. On March 14, 2011, Universal Studios posted via Facebook that Nicktoon Blast would be closed on April 1, 2011. It was not officially closed until August 18, 2011 when all of the Jimmy Neutron insignia was dismantled. Today, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem occupies the building in Production Central.

Ride historyEdit

In July 2002, Universal Florida announced their contract would not be renewed for The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera, and that it would close after twelve years of operation. They also announced that Nicktoon Blast would occupy that space and open to the public on April 11, 2003. They also announced Shrek 4D would replace Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies.

Ride receptionEdit

When Nicktoon Blast opened in April 2003, most guests and websites had mixed feelings about the ride. People thought it did not outdo Hanna Barbera, and the other half thought it did. Theme Park Insider, a website, rated Nicktoon Blast a 7/10, and IMDB rated it a 6/10. Comparingly, Hanna Barbera received a higher rating at 8/10.
